A New Old Blog

    The shift in focus from my writing to printmaking over the past seven years has been a fulfilling endeavor, while it lasted. My outside chance at once again have a custom darkroom/printing room was just too good to pass up. That has come to an end, and once again my focus shifts back to the book that has lain on my desktop for those years reminding me of ;its existence.

The book in question is one I began over a decade ago, on a subject dear to my heart of course, fine  art black and white photography. "Gallery of Hope", like my memoir will be satire, and few tings in life are as satirically inclined as hope, above and beyond good judgement. One of the things that has lured me back to the writing life is an ongoing marketing plan unfolding around my satirical memoir "Marinating in Dream Sauce", with an upcoming television interview with Logan Crawford via Zoom. I am not an IT person so that is my least favorite part of that upcoming event.

When I began publishing my books about fifteen years ago, I did it through Create Space, which was for me a most excellent POD platform; [Print on Demand} All the good qualities of that setup were stripped out and sold off to another POD setup called KDP. No longer does the author have any control over their books, and, they now get dinged 40% of their royalties, just because. Thus, I no longer blog on such topics, as the corporate culture ahs subsumed the more useful parts of independent publishing for the most part. Which, calls for me to find new pastures for my books.

What I do want to put to the page are thoughts on writing in general, changes taking place in publishing, and clips form one of my books and poetry from time to time. It is also time to begin work on the third book of poetry. It is around every twenty years I find myself penning lines of poetry. I have theories on that timing, that will get expounded upon in later posts.

I also just completed putting together an author's website, to showcase my books, as well as blog there too. the book being marketed at this time is my satirical memoir;
